Need Legal information on Surrogacy in the Philippines

Hi Myra and Michael,

I am a surrogate mother from Cebu,Philippines. There is no law yet set up for Surrogacy in the Philippines. The country is very open and not strict in regards of surrogacy. It's just that, no Law to bind any agreements made between the IP and surrogate that will protect both. However, I have already submitted a proposal to the Senate to set up a Law that will protect both the IP and Surrogate. This will include the contract, the birth Certificate. However, in terms of Birth Certificate under the IP's name, this will be arranged together with the doctor who will execute and testify the birth. Hi. Do u know the process if the IPs are from abroad? I'm worried that it will take long before we could bring the baby with us to US after birth. You said that birth certficate can be arranged, so that means a lawyer is also involved? Do you know the charges for this? Thanks. Miles
