Permalink Reply by Lulu on August 2, 2011 at 9:35pm Hey there,
Thanks for replying, I'm glad to see that there's someone not far from Utah. We are in Salt Lake City, so Wyoming is pretty good!
I read on your profile that you had been matched before, but couldn't find an update... Was it a good experience?
BTW, the baby pics you have there are adorable. I just can't wait to have a baby of our own. I have a unitcornuate uterus, so my chances of carrying to term are not good, so we're praying so hard to find someone to help us start a family!
I'd love to stay in touch, if you prefer my personal email is floraluz@yahoo.com, but I'll be coming back here often.
Thanks!
Salt Lake City is about 2 1/2 hours drive from where we live. That's actually where we go if we would like to do something fun (like the mall, or the zoo). It's amazing how few surrogates and intended parents there are if you are looking anywhere but the east coast, west coast, or Texas.
I haven't been on this site in a long time, which is why there haven't been any updates in a while. I had 3 transfers with the couple I was matched with before. The second transfer resulted in a pregnancy that was lost at 10 weeks. The fetus had an extra chromosome. The mom was a bit older and that caused some issues with the embryos. After 3 transfers their embryos were gone and we parted ways. They adopted 2 little ones about 6 months after we stopped working together. It was a wonderful experience, but definitely bittersweet. I wanted more than anything to be able to have a baby for them.
Thank you for the baby picture compliment. I haven't updated in such a long time. That baby is now 3 1/2 and we have another one.
I'm sorry to hear about your uterus. (that seems like such an odd thing to say to someone). I'm sure you will find the perfect person to help you with your family. Have you known about this issue for a long time, or did you find out when you were ready to start a family?

Yeah, it's a bit tricky to find a match around this area. I'm sorry to hear that the transfer you tried before ended as pregnancy loss. I lost a pregnancy at 12 weeks, it was devastating.
About my uterus, I found out after my first miscarriage, they ordered a bunch of tests and with each result they seemed more confused. I went from Dr. to Dr. until they recommended a laparoscopy with a hysteroscopy. That's when they figured out that my uterus has the genetic malformation. On top of that, I have a fibroid (benign tumor-like).
Sometimes I wonder if I had better chances to get pregnant when I was younger, but then again, I wanted to find the right person and be married...
We have also talked a bit about adoption, but if we could have a biological link to our child would be awsome.
How did you decide to become a surrogate? I think it takes a really big heart to try something like that... Are you kinda actively looking again?
Have you brought your family to the Dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving point in Draper (UT)? We love that place. We moved to Utah 3 years ago because we love the outdoors. Actually, we're planning a camping trip to Yellowstone on the week of Labor Day, we can't wait!
Cheers,
Flora.

Thanks for your message!
Yes, we found someone and are under contract, although we haven't transferred yet. We hope that everything will go smoothly, but if things fall through and you are still available I would love to talk to you then, if it's ok with you.
Thanks again!
