I Hate Scammers!!!!!
I am SO sick and tired of running into scammers. I think surrogacy is something that is so very real. Emotionally, physically, and financially! And it REALLY bothers me when people are scammers on here, or anywhere for that matter! I'm sure everyone gets emails from some.. Mr. Budda.. saying he has 5 million dollars he wants you to deposit into your bank and then send him a small sum, back to Africa. We can all spot those. But on here, it's much different. I always fear that a new intended parent, or a new surrogate mother will join, and be caught up in the scam. Your first instinct when someone contacts you is to be really excited, but I really hope that for newcomers, and people that have been here for a while, that you take the time to research before letting emotions make your decisions for you.
I was recently messaged by a 'user' asking if I would be a surrogate for them, because I live like, 10 minutes from them! What are the chances? I have already found intended parents, but I wanted to talk with her further, to see if maybe I could recommend someone for her, or a good doctor, or maybe be a surrogate for her at a later time. We talked on the phone, (so I know this truly IS a real person that lives near me), and discussed things. I told her I was a GS, not willing to be a TS for her (I'm very very picky with my TS intended parents). She said she was interested in me being a GS for her. The next day she emails me and tells me called her DR and he can get me ready to take my embryo's, so that we can transplant them into HER. Ummm.. she's like 50 years old. 40 something maybe.. There is no way a GOOD doctor is working with her. Then I JUST saw yesterday, she is posting on other posts, saying she will be a GS or TS for couples!!
AHHHH!!! Are you kidding me?? Either she wants to steal a baby from trying to carry one for someone else, or she is just out to scam literally everyone. So.. just please be careful. Surrogacy is such an amazing thing.. I would hate to see scammers mess it up for all of us so that more restrictive laws have to go into place. IP's have already been through so much, and surrogate's are really putting their hearts out there. I really really do not have ANY tolerance for scammers. So do your research, be educated, and if it seems either too good to be true, or you have a weird feeling.. back out and try again! :)

If it's who I called out yesterday on a post, I'm guessing she's not a very good scammer, her story changes every post she makes. I have friend requested "Ivory" so that I could discuss this person privately with her but, she has not accepted my request. Not sure what this womans motives are but, there is definately something wrong with her.

I like that she will carry "real cheap" for someone...And she has posted to members profiles asking for their sperm, or she just need their eggs and embryos...crazy..

Yepp! She has a ton of posts on my profile.. I'm not sure who she was replying to, but she put them on the wrong page. First she wanted me to be her surrogate, then she wanted embryo's, she wanted to see if my IP's had left over embies she could have (?), and now a surrogate?? Yeah, Right! She's 50! She can't carry her own baby.. or someone else's!

I know you're trying to do the right thing by not m entioning names here, but it sounds like there is enough collective concern to perhaps post her name in the surrogacy community beware forum section. Perhaps you should ask Ivory her opinion on taking such an abrasive measure, and hope that by then it is not too late.
Your post is very true Surromommy2be, and I only wish all beginner IP's AND SM hopefuls alike could read this post or a post similar to it when they sign up to the website.
At any rate, I believe there is viable proof (via posts) that she has, indeed, changed her story and I think you have a credible reason to post her name in the surrogacy beware forum.

OMG!!! that is HORRIBLE!!!!! seriously it amazes me at how low some people will go just to steal money from others & they have no concern they are stealing more than just money but the hopes & dreams of others as well as the very delicate bonds of trust that we try so hard to form. surrogacy is hard enough for those that need to pursue it & when people do things like this it makes those of us who are seriously trying to help others have a bad image. hopefully Ivory will get her off the website ASAP!

This h appened to me several months ago and I sent the info to the moderators but heard nothing back and I know she stayed on for quite some time (don't know about now). She didn't live by me but she wanted to be a TS and then suddenly was searching for a SM. WEIRD.
