Insurance fraud? Oh boy!! The "military surrogates" are not using their insurance for "procedures", it's being used for their pregnancy - and maybe medications to support the pregnancy. Is there anything wrong with it? In my opinion, no. We (surrogates), use our insurance all the time for pregnancy - surrogacy or otherwise. As long as there isn't a surrogacy exclusion, we pay alot for our healthcare (my former ins. package was at $1200 a month), therefore we should be able to use it for a surrogacy pregnancy.
Also, I don't understand what the big deal is about international couples coming to the US for surrogates. If the couple doesn't have insurance - they will need to obtain it, just like everyone else.
Gotta love a not well researched news story. They are just so uneducated with the process and how things REALLY work.

I thought that most of you would feel this way...which is why I wanted it addressed on here. It will be surrogatemother.com's attempt at "fair and balanced" as they call it on FOXNews! lol!

The insurance doesn't cover the baby's care, necessarily, its the mother's health. Insurance companies just don't want to pay out . . . any excuse. I hate Fox News.

Well b/c of the bad media on Military surrogates Tricare is No longer covering compensated surrogate pregnancies. So really there is no more debate. They removed the clause which stated that they covered a surrogate pregnancy of the military dependant. Now if you are getting compensated your IP's will now be forced to Co-pay.
It's not only Fox news that had stories like these it's the entire new media. It's rare to see a "good" surrogacy story.
