I am writing to the members of this community to remind each of you to be safe and smart when meeting, sharing, and matching during your surrogacy or parenthood-via-surrogacy journey. It is quite unfortunate, but there are surrogacy scams, and it is important to be aware and be careful. There are so many amazing men and women who are a part of the surrogacy community at large, however, those few who seek out intended parents and/or surrogates to inflict financial, emotional, or other harm create a climate in which great caution must be taken before embarking on any surrogacy relationship.
With all that being said, I would like to remind this community of another point- SurrogateMother.com is not a surrogacy agency, but rather a place for people interested in surrogacy-related issues to share information and get to know one another. Yes, some people do choose to “match” after meeting on this site, however, these matches are not regulated by SurrogateMother.com, nor are they our responsibility. This is a site which anyone may join if they are willing to abide by the terms of service, and there is no way for us to discern an honest and appropriate surrogate/intended parent from someone intending to scam others. So, in short, if you match with anyone you meet on our site, please do so at your own risk and do your homework!
As always, thank you for your participation on SurrogateMother.com. This site has attracted thousands of interesting and warm people from all over the planet, and it is important that we keep ourselves and each other safe.
